Secret Keeper Girls CRAZY HAIR Tour!

Have you ever heard of or been to a Secret Keeper Girl Tour?  Dannah Gresh started it 10 years ago!  I had never heard of it until this year...and I think I only heard about it because my church was hosting it!  It is for girls...ages 7-12ish....so your tween girls.  I have a 9 year old...PERFECT age for something like this!

The Secret Keeper Girl Crazy Hair tour starts with moms and daughters competing in crazy game shows. How’s a mother/daughter duo get into a contest? Crazy hair might help! A toe-tapping trip through the decades will show you just how crazy hair can get, before we begin to talk about true beauty. Through worship, fun Bible teaching and memorable stories, the audience will be asked to choose if they will be normal or crazy. A normal girl takes her cues from fashion designers that dress her like she’s seventeen and take relationship cues from normal boy-crazy friends. But a God-crazy girl takes her cues from the Bible, her parents and…well, maybe even our crazy fashion show that dares her to be different.

Sounds neat right??  We had a fabulous time.  We went with two of our friends.  Here are the three girls together.

 When you spend $40 on their merchandise you get this light up, blue (or pink) hair!  If you look closely you can see a bit of my daughter!  :-)  Yes...I spent more than $40.  They have incredible resources...how could I NOT??

 After the show we went upstairs to get our 1 Girl Nation Posters signed.  We stood in line for a little while.

 MaKenna is in the blue shirt.  Here she is meeting each of the 1 Girl Nation girls.  They were all so very nice and took their time with each girl.

 Each girl reassured my daughter in one way or another...either she told her how pretty or beautiful my daughter was...how special she was....something positive to really drive it home.

 This was Suzy, one of the hosts.

The preshow started at 6:00.  We had gotten there at 5:30 as we didn't have assigned seats and we wanted to make sure we got decent seats.  It actually started at 6:30....and we were there until 9:30.  The show ended at 9....but then we stood in line for the autographs.  It was a long evening...then we went to Dairy Queen!!  :-)  But, it was so worth it.  They instilled SO many truths into my Tweenager.  Things that she may not have accepted coming from me.  They spoke on the "mean girls", modesty and TRUE beauty, using God's Word all the while.  It was a very humbling experience for everyone who went.  If you have a daughter between the ages of 7 and 12, I would highly recommend this tour!  Tell your friends too!  Let's really spread the word!!
