PIPPIN, the most nominated Broadway show of 2013, and winner of four 2013 Tony Awards including Best Revival of a Musical is coming to the Orpheum Theater Tuesday, March 3, through Sunday, March 8, 2015 as part of Omaha Performing Arts’ Broadway Series. Tickets for PIPPIN are on sale now starting at $30 through Ticket Omaha. Tuesday, March 3 also has been designated Kids’ Night on Broadway®. A limited number of tickets are available for 50% off that evening only, as part of the Kids’ Night on Broadway® program which is designed to introduce young people ages 9 to 18 to live theater. Kid-themed beverages and snacks will also be available for purchase. The half-price tickets can be purchased at $15 each from Ticket Omaha by using the promotion code – KIDS NIGHT. There’s a limit of one ticket per adult and one ticket per child, age 9 to 18. No more than two tickets per adult, per family or per household. Additional tickets may be purchased at regular ticket prices.
PIPPIN is back on Broadway for the first time since it thrilled audiences 40 years ago. With a beloved score by Tony nominee Stephen Schwartz (Wicked), PIPPIN tells the story of a young prince on a death-defying journey to find meaning in his existence. Will he choose a happy but simple life? Or will he risk everything for a singular flash of glory. This captivating new production is directed by Tony winner Diane Paulus (Hair and The Gershwins’ Porgy and Bess). It features sizzling choreography by Tony Award®- nominee Chet Walker in the style of Bob Fosse and circus creation of breathtaking acrobatics by Gypsy Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main (also known as 7 Fingers) the creative force behind the nationwide sensation Traces. PIPPIN is noted for many Broadway standards including “Corner of the Sky,” “Magic To Do,” “Glory,” “No Time at All,” “Morning Glow,” and “Love Song.”
