Grammy Winner, RICK SPRINGFIELD
with EDDIE MONEY and LITTLE RIVER BAND
at the Mid-America Center
On June 6th, 2014 three greatly talented artists will share one stage at the Mid-America Center. Rick Springfield, Eddie Money, and Little River Band will all perform for one night and one night only.
Rick Springfield is noted for all his accomplishments as an actor, a best-selling author and the subject of a documentary. Rick Springfield’s first love has always been music, since the first time he picked up a guitar at the age of 12 in his native Australia.
With 25 million albums sold, 17 top-40 hits, including Don’t Talk to Strangers, An Affair of the Heart, I've Done Everything for You, Love Somebody, and Human Touch, as well as a 1981 Grammy® Best Male Rock Vocal win for his No. 1 single hit Jessie’s Girl behind him, Springfield has more to say with his latest Universal Music Enterprises release, Songs for the End of the World.
Still playing nearly 100 live shows a year, Springfield’s bond with his audience is the subject of the recent documentary An Affair of the Heart, which was previewed earlier this year, winning special jury awards at both the Nashville and Florida Film Festivals. He also recently wrote and recorded a new song with Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters / Nirvana) as well as being a featured guest in Grohl’s new documentary about “Sound City,” the fabled San Fernando Valley recording studio.
Rock icon, Eddie Money, is back on the road with his all-star band. Money is an accomplished musician, singing, writing, and playing the saxophone, harmonica and piano. Eddie has recorded over a dozen albums of his own (selling over 28 million records), and has done numerous projects in television and film.
"Everything I do, I do it for you". Eddie Money says it at least once, every show. And he means it. This straight up rock and roll icon has been making music and delivering it to his fans since the mid 70's, and wouldn't have it any other way. With hits like "Two Tickets To Paradise", "Baby Hold On", "Walk On Water", "Think I'm In Love" and "Shakin", Eddie continues to be one of the hardest working men in rock and roll.
Little River Band was formed in Melbourne, Australia in 1975. Their goal was to get airplay on American radio and they achieved that goal with good songwriting, powerful vocals, and guitar harmonies. They immediately claimed their place as one of the great vocal bands of the ‘70s and the ‘80s.
Between 1976 and 1983, chart success in America includes the following singles: “It’s a Long Way There, Help is on Its Way, Happy Anniversary, Reminiscing, Lady, Cool Change, Lonesome Loser, The Night Owls, and Take it Easy on Me”.
The current lineup brings new energy and arrangements to the classic hits, making new memories for the audience out of each live performance. It’s always fun to watch as people are swept up by the show’s vitality and the volute of hits from Little River Band’s history. You will see plenty of people mouthing the words…”I love this song… I forgot it was one of Little River Band’s hits!”
