My Take:

First of all....did you notice that TODAY is this books release book???  This is the Shook brothers FIRST book together and I KNOW how excited they are to have their first book released today!  What a great accomplishment to do together!  So please take the time to really read about this book and make your own opinion by purchasing it HERE.  Then tell me what YOU think!

This was a really neat book.  Very well written with a lot of great thought put into it.  When people ask me when I became a Christian, I will always tell them that when I was very young I accepted Christ into my heart.  Where that may very truly be the case, I certainly didn't live like I had Jesus in my heart.  That is the basis of this book.  Our second hand religion is the one we are brought up with.  We are Christians because that is how we were raised....but when does it become OUR faith?  For me it was after I was married and in my last year of college....but even then it didn't become TRULY real until I faced crises' in my life around 3 years ago.  I didn't realize that I wasn't TRULY living my life for Christ until I have TRULY lived my life for Christ.  Does that make sense?  This book does a great job of laying it out and putting it very clearly for all to understand.  Not only does it explain the second hand faith, but it tells us how we can make it our own firsthand faith.  It is a book that opened my eyes and I am sure will be impactful to many others.  I would highly recommend this book to anyone....those new in their faith.....and those who have been Christians a long time too.  You never really know where people are in their faith.  Only they know that.  It may look good on the outside, but only they know what the inside looks like.

*I was sent a copy of the book in order to give my honest opinion.  All opinions in this post are mine alone.*
