Zinc Restaurant at Holland Performing Arts Center
ZINC MOVES TO NEW PERMANENT HOME INSIDE HOLLAND PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
Upscale Restaurant Opens On First Floor Of Venue,
Adjacent to Popular NRG Energy Ovations Bar and Lounge
The new home of Zinc was unveiled during a private reception Friday, May 29, 2015. The upscale restaurant has relocated to the first floor of the Holland Performing Arts Center, 1200 Douglas St.
During her welcoming remarks, Joan Squires, President of Omaha Performing Arts, shared how the relocation aligns with the organization’s overall mission. “As the stewards of the Holland Performing Arts Center, we strive to provide wonderful experiences for our patrons. Todd and Susan Johnson and their family’s leadership enabled us to relocate Zinc to its new home. This location will enhance the available patron amenities in our award-winning performance facility.”
With the convenient ground-floor location, Zinc patrons can now enjoy outdoor seating with a view of the Holland Center courtyard. The interior of the restaurant has been designed to complement the rest of the building, with limestone walls and green granite floors. Four colorful tapestries by Omaha artist Mary Zicafoose decorate the walls.
Funding for Zinc’s new location was generously provided by Todd and Susan Johnson and their family. Todd Johnson, an Omaha Performing Arts board member and former CEO of Energy Systems, and his wife Susan were the founding donors of Ovations Bar and Lounge, another patron amenity at the Holland Center.
“While staying true to its mission, the Holland Performing Arts Center has evolved to meet the changing wants and needs of its patrons,” said Todd Johnson. “Zinc's redesign and relocation within the venue is a stellar example of that commitment, and we’re honored to help make that possible. Zinc now has a stunning setting overlooking the Holland Center’s courtyard. I envision Zinc’s new beginning as the start of even greater things to come for the performing arts in Omaha.”
The Zinc menu is chef-prepared with a comfort food focus, highlighted by fresh, locally-sourced produce and offerings. Executive Chef Diana Browden rotates the full menu seasonally.
Zinc will be open two and a half hours before most Omaha Symphony and Omaha Performing Arts' events at the Holland starting in October. Reservations are recommended. Zinc is also available to reserve for private and corporate events, including wedding rehearsal dinners and receptions.
