The Chalkboard Tee by Class Attire review AND GIVEAWAY!

Sponsored by

GIVEAWAY OVER! CONGRATULATIONS TO ROBYN FROM COOLESTMOMMY ON WINNING!!!! I am getting a bit miffed....this is the THIRD time I am typing this...everytime I go to save computer freezes and then proceeds to lose my work! So...I know it isn't your fault....but bear with me if my verbage isn't as "eloquent" this third time around! So....

I was given the opportunity to review a childs size T-Shirt from Chalkboard Tee by Class Attire. MaKenna is a big fan of "love" I ordered the heart one for her. She is also very I knew this would be a hit with her. It is basically a t-shirt...with a chalkboard on it! The kids...or adults...can write whatever they please and walk around for the day...changing it as their mood changes! Changing what is on the chalkboard is very easy too...and you don't have to carry an eraser. Just a simple damp cloth will do. We even used kleenix. Writing on the chalkboard was very easy too. In this picture, MaKenna chose to just draw a happy face!

When I first hear about this, I thought it would make the shirt scratchy, or heavy...but the weight is really no different from any other t-shirt....and honestly, as far as wearing least according to my daughter...there is no scratchy feel at all. The shirt itself is very comfortable and soft. are at school and you draw a happy face....someone pushes you...your mad....what will you do?? You already drew a happy face! Grab a kleenix...wipe it off...and take your chalk and draw a mad face! Take my chalk, you ask? That's will be able to carry your chalk right along with you! There is a little pouch just for your chalk. Now you have it with you whenever...wherever you go!!!!

This shirt is a great idea...and a great gift idea. My daughter thinks it is the best thing since sliced bread...without the crust...she really loves it! As an adult...I probably wouldn't get as big of a kick out of it...but, the kids TRULY love it! What a great gift idea! Be sure to visit their website at

BUY ONE! Right can get a t-shirt of your own with a $9 discount using code class68137. This code expires April 1st.

Applied Labels Review

I got the opportunity to review Applied Labels, the dishwasher and laundry safe labels for kids and babies!

You can check them out for yourself at, or on twitter at labels, and on facebook at

They are all over the place! But they are a great product! Here is what they have to say:

The sleek, clean, sharp, classic alternative to labels that shout. Our extraordinarily tough labels are dishwasher & laundry safe. Award Winning Products. Lead, BPA & DEHP Free. Made in the USA!

Our labels have twice the adhesive strength of most labels. It is so strong that it is classified as permanent. The labels can be removed but it takes deliberate action. That means your labels should stay put until you want them removed.

We use a proprietary print technology to produce durable, long-lasting labels that easily withstand harsh environments (such as your dishwasher). The image is permanently affixed onto the label, providing a durable, robust marking. This simply means that the ink won't wash off.

We use high resolution, professional grade print technology to produce sharp, crisp images.

We provide a simple, quick method to label clothing with tags that does not require any sewing or ironing onto the fabric or marking the fabric with ink.

Our labels are 100% inspected. We typically print and ship within one to two business days so you get your labels quickly. Any rare exceptions to our shipping policy will always be posted. We will also send you both order and shipping confirmations.

Applied Labels LLC was founded by a degreed Chemical Engineer and mother of two. She was a key engineer in charge of labeling for a leading aerospace company and has put her experience with cutting edge technology to work for you.

We have given careful consideration to the selection of the label materials. Superior materials yield labels that offer unsurpassed performance. Basically, these labels are tough.

We promise to always screen our materials for safety of use. Applied Labels LLC restricts the use of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) / polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants, Di(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEPH) and Bisphenol (BPA) in all of our products. We also had an independent, third-party laboratory test our Applied LabelsTM and Baby TapesTM for six banned phthalates and heavy metals. We met or exceeded all government standards. We care about performance but always put safety first. This is our promise to you.

It was really neat...they let me choose what type of font and picture I would like. Since I have so many kids, I didn't want one kid getting their own label, so I had them do "The Fillemans" with a cross on it. Forgive the juice spill in the picture...Major had just had some orange juice before I took it....I thought about wiping it off...but the OJ gives you the reality that I HAVE used the labels! :-)

Anyway, I thought they looked beautiful and I have used them in clothes, shoes, sippy cups, books....I went a little crazy with labels! :-) But it was SO fun! your package they send you clothing backers and shoe shields to insure that those particular labesl stay PUT! Like I said before you pick your font and your icon...and of course the name on the label. Then they make sure you know what you're doing by sending you a "how to" brochure.

I have to say, I was a bit skeptical...I have tried labels before and none worked...but these labels made it through the laundry, they made it through the dishwasher and my children's smelly feet. MULTIPLE TIMES! They didn't fray, fall off, or look like they have been on there forever. They are on there...and aren't coming off! UNLESS of course you want them too. And when you want them to, they don't wrip and leave that sticky mess behind. The only reason I know this is that my three year old likes to sit and pick on things when he is in front of the tv...sometimes his nose...sometimes his fingers...but this particular day he picked at the label on this sippy cup and it came off with a little effot on his part. It came off clean and unwripped. You may think it must be easy to get them off then. Well..yes and no. If you want them off, they'll come off...but like I said, the laundry, the dishwasher, etc....nothing takes them off...except a three year old who has experience picking! :-)

All in all, I really was happy about how well they worked. I will be passing applied labels name around to my friends who have small children and need to label things for travel, or when they go to Sunday School, etc. They are very handy little doodads!

T-Shirt review

I was lucky enough to be selected to review T-shirt t-shirts.

Here is a picture of the shirt I received. Now...this is just a protype. They make CUSTOM you pick. Here is what they have to say:

If you are looking for bespoke printed T shirts for your workwear, team or you are developing a fashion collection we can offer advice, discuss the best options in terms of the blank garments and make the whole process easy and painless.
Over the years we have screen printed everything that we could have imagined and some which really did take us by surprise. Premium fashion brands have used our services, countless football teams, fast food chains and many a stag and hen party organizer has walked away with a smile after collecting their custom t shirts.

We can supply T shirts, hoodys, sweats etc from our vast array of suppliers including ScreenStars, Gildan, Hanes, Fruit of the Loom or you can source these yourself and we can do the screen printing for you.

I have to say...I am not thrilled with the monkey...though he is kinda cute! But what is ON the t-shirt isn't what matters...because it is just a protype...but the shirt itself seems to be very resilient and it is VERY comfy. I have had t-shirts before that weren't comfortable...they were either scratchy or rought, and I just didn't like the feel of them. I have a son who has allergy problems, so he is often we ALWAYS have to look for t-shirts that are extra soft for him, and these fit the bill. They were very cozy, so I can imagine that their hoodies and sweats would also be very cozy. Their prices seem to be very comparable also. The only problem I had...other than the monkey...was that it was way too big. But that is my fault. I ordered an XL because I don't like the FITTED Larges...but...this is not a fitted t-shirt...I should have read a bit further before I ordered! So...with that in mind...the XL isn't too is just too big for me. Their sizes seem to be right on, so when should know that. They DO have fitted t-shirts though...this is just not one of them.
All in all, I think they have a great product and would recommend them for your next custom t-shirt purchase. Check out there website at

CMT Premiers a new series called "Working Class"

On Friday, January 28th, CMT will premier a new series called Working Class with Melissa Peterman from "Reba".

WORKING CLASS focuses on Carli Mitchell (Melissa Peterman), a single mom from a rough and tumble background, trying to give her kids a better life by moving them to an upscale suburb. She quickly finds that making the transition to “the good life” is harder than she thought.

She's unwittingly befriended by her cranky neighbor, Hank (Ed Asner), her only “career” prospect is a glorified deli job at the local grocery store, and the man she falls for not only already has a girlfriend – but he’s also her boss, Rob (Patrick Fabian). With her ladies-man brother, Nick (Steve Kazee), to help her out (when he’s not acting like one of the kids himself), Carli faces the challenges of parenting, dating, and making friends in her new community by doing more with less, staying true to herself, and approaching each day with a touch of working class.

WORKING CLASS premieres January 28 at 8:00 p.m., ET/PT on CMT.

Premiere Episode: “The Buddy System”
Carli’s old flame from high school shows up hoping to re-ignite his “spark” with Carli — even if it means humiliating her in front of her new boss.

I thought this episode was very good! It looks like it will be a very good series too! I giggled and caught myself looking forward to the next episode. Sadly, I don't have CMT, so I can't watch the next episode...but if I DID have CMT...I would make a point to see it! That is THE ONLY downfall of this series is that it is only on CMT. Otherwise, I can't say that I disliked any of it. Carli is a fun loving character to watch, and her brother is even more fun to watch! He is a bit irresponsible, but still "the brother". You can't fire family! :-) I also found the episode to be family friendly. I would have no trouble allowing my entire family to watch it.
Honestly, I was never a huge fan of Melissa Peterman...but she is...different in this. I really enjoyed watching her. And even more enjoyable are the list of guests who will be visiting, Reba among them!
I was starting to wonder where all the good comedy went. I get tired of watching what seems like the same thing over and over again. This is a different series, and family friendly. I truly enjoyed it and I think that most of my readers would too! Be sure to catch it on CMT at 7pm central time! I really don't think you will be sorry!! $10 gift card TO ALL!!

Who WOULDN'T want a FREE $10 gift card!?!?!?!?! Well...all you have to do, is go to, and register...nothing bad just get an e-mail once a week or so...letting you know what GREAT deals they have. That's it! Just register and BOOM...$10 is YOURS!! is a website that has daily deals. They discount stuff UNBELIEVABLY low. Sometimes...OFTENTIMES 90% below retail!!! That $10 could get you a new iPod shuffle! REALLY!! I have seen them THAT low!! And shipping is a mere $2 regardless of the size of order! Check it out!!! You will save TONS of money!!! The Walk, By Shaun Alexander, book review

The Walk Description
Are you walking with God, dragging your feet, or running ahead of Him? Take the first step in living at God's pace.

When you start walking with God, it’s easy to misplace the emphasis. You might think it’s about seeking perfection or impressing God with your level of commitment. But God isn’t looking for perfection, and no matter how hard you try, you will never be able to impress him.

Walking with God is exactly what it says: God invites you to get in step with what he is doing in the world. When you walk with God, you allow him to set the pace for every aspect of your life. And that is when you discover faith and strength that overcome doubt, fear, and temptation.

Let Shaun Alexander help you get started on the greatest adventure possible. If you are ready to know God as your Walking Companion, you are ready to begin The Walk.

God invites you to grow through five stages of spiritual maturity

Walking with God is not a contest or a competition, and it has nothing to do with how you look in front of others. Your walk with Christ is the most extreme, dangerous, and intimate adventure you will ever be part of. But all you have to do is walk, which takes you to a place where it’s not about you—instead, you will become part of something that is much bigger than anything you can imagine.

God leads his followers through five stages of spiritual maturity. He begins by working in us even before we trust him, drawing us while we are still Unbelievers. He walks with us when we become Believers, training us so that we can grow to live as Examples of Christ. He works with Examples, showing them how to explain what they believe and making them Teachers. And God calls some Teachers to serve as Imparters, those who do the miraculous work of Jesus on earth.

While our tendency is to run ahead of God or lag behind, just walking with God through the stages of spiritual maturity will transform your life with biblical wisdom, God’s direction, and the power of the Holy Spirit. With God at your side, your life will have an unprecedented impact on others.

WOW! This book was incredible! For those of you who know me...first of all...I am a HUGE football fan! I read books written by football players...just because they are football players! I know...I am weird....but I love the sport. So when I saw that Shaun Alexander had written a book...and one about God no less, I thought I needed to read it.

The Walk totally took me by surprise. I had heard that Shaun Alexander was a speaker now, but I didn't know that he was SO good. He really knows his bible!

The book is very clear cut and straight forward, I could read between the lines that if you don't like it...tough. He is very committed to Christ and furthering His Kingdom which to me is just absolutely awesome! I have gained even more respect for him now after reading this book.

I took a lot away from the book too. Shaun Alexander lays it out for you. For can't be a "teacher" in the Word until you have learned to be the "example", etc. It is very eye opening and actually a lot of it is common sense...but so many times human beings want to skip steps, not thinking about the common sense part of it.

This is a book that I gave to my husband immediately, as he struggles on a daily basis how to have a better relationship with we all do. I think this would be a fabulous book for anybody, but especially those who want to do more for God's Kingdom. Those looking at going into the ministry in one way or another, NEED to read this book.

I am looking forward to someday hearing Shaun Alexander speak! Or read yet another book of his...whichever comes first.

“I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review”.

Millard South High Shooting

We live only a block away from this school....we see and hear most everything that goes on at least on the football and practice field daily. This is the school my kids will go to. Currently my kids go to the middle school and elementary school, only a few blocks away. They were on lock down for over an hour today. The middle school closed and locked all were directed to stay away from windows. the elementary school, they have an open floor plan which means, other than the front and back doors...there are no doors to the the kids had to get in corners under desks and laydown for over an hour. Poor babies. They at first thought it was a really long drill...but then they started getting nervous after awhile. MaKenna...bless her heart...just fell asleep on the floor...while Jake's heart was beating a little faster not knowing what was going on. middle school...just enjoyed getting to watch youtube with his teacher.

Such a senseless act. I REALLY don't get it. It is SO not worth it...why?? These two priciples are wonderful people...and Dr. her soul...would have been 59 tomorrow. All over a silly suspension. Really? Is life THAT bad? Satan got his claws into that boy and didn't let there anyway to prevent something like this from happening again????

Millard South Asst. Principal Dies after School Shooting
Posted: Jan 05, 2011 7:10 PM CST

Millard South School Shooting Omaha, NE - Assistant Principal Dr. Vicki Kaspar died Wednesday night after she was shot inside Millard South High School early in the afternoon. A spokesperson for the Millard Public Schools says Dr. Kaspar would have turned 59-years-old Thursday.

Millard South High School will be closed Thursday. Counseling will be available for students, staff and parents at the high school and the Stroh Administrative Center from 8:00-5:00 p.m. Thursday. Millard South student Taylor Anderson remembered Dr. Kaspar Wednesday night, "Dr. Kaspar, she's extremely respected, very kind and caring. She is always at the basketball and football games and is a very great person to talk to."

Dr. Kaspar had worked for Millard Public Schools since 1988; she became an assistant principal in 1998.

South Principal Dr. Curtis Case remained in serious condition Wednesday night. Superintendent Dr. Keith Lutz as young and energetic.

The first emergency calls to 911 reported 4 or 5 shots had been fired inside the school office at 12:50 p.m. Many students were in the cafeteria, near the office. The school declared a "Code Red" situation and went into lockdown immediately; students were not allowed the leave until several hours after the shooting. Teachers kept the students in classrooms, the lights were turned off, the students were asked to remain quiet.

Omaha Police Chief Alex Hayes confirmed student Robert Butler, Jr., shot the administrators, then fled from the school. Butler later shot and killed himself in his car, parked in an office complex parking lot a couple miles from the school. Butler is the son of an Omaha police detective. A status update on Butler's Facebook page this afternoon said, "Everybody that used (sic) to me. I'm sorry but Omaha changed me and f****ed me up and the school I know (sic) attend is even worse. Ur gonna hear about the evil s***t I did but that f****ing school drove me to this. I want you guys to remember me for who I was before this. I know I greatly affected the lives of the families I ruined but I'm sorry. Goodbye.

Butler transferred to Millard South in November from Lincoln Southwest.

Late Wednesday, students were released from the school, one class at a time. Most had remained in contact with friends and parents by text messages. Parents rushed to the school to wait for their students.

Juno and GREAT DEAL!!

A few weeks ago I received a gift pack from the wonderful people at
I received an incredible bag...which I have fallen in love with...and an awesome DVD. The kids watched it and they really enjoyed it! Even the 11 year old!!! It is VERY cute! I actually now have two of the junobaby dvds. One is "Way to Go, Juno!" This one talks about facing fears through music. I am just going to tell you what the insert says,

"As a classical composer and mother, I believe that music has the power to inspire and nurture us creatively, intellectually and emotionally. Music allows us to feel and express ourselves more completely than words often can. My wish is for all children to be surrounded by beautiful and interesting sounds, and for them to keep music forever a part of their lives."
-Belinda Takahashi, Ph.D., creator of Juno Baby

I couldn't agree with you more Belinda!!! As a piano teacher and someone who has played different instruments in her is an INTEGRAL part of our lives! Finally...somebody who gets it!!

The DVD I received is called "The Day the Music Stopped." This is for preschoolers...but like I said, my 11 year old was watching it too and he said it was really cute. This is a story about music that has been shushed in a town. It is a story of creating music to bring it back to their town. It was so cute!

The Junobaby company has been awarded many awards and for every Juno product purchased, the Juno Company donates a very specail music education DVD to a child in need. Go to for more details on that.

All in all, this is a product that any parent of a preschooler NEEDS to have...especially if music is important to them. Studies have shown that music can increase knowledge in children!

Also, they have reopened the Kids Deal for the Juno Company. They have a
$40 online store credit they are selling for just $20. Just click on the link to get it!

*This post was written by me using my own words. I was not compensated financially, however I did receive a free gift bag to review."
